Cash, Seahorses & The War of Art
Welcome back to the Sundy Collection #3.
The Sundy Collection is a short, curated list of what I’m learning, exploring and geeking out over each week.
Feel free to forward this along to any friends that would enjoy the content.
Let’s jump in…
Cash is NOT King
Summary: The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has opened several "cashless" branches, where customers cannot access their money over the counter. The Post Office has stepped up to take on the role of the last bastion of local cash banking.
Key takeaways:
Cash transactions are unavailable at certain Commonwealth Bank branches.
Are ATM machines next?
$ 3.5 billion is still transacted through the Post Office on a monthly basis.
Although this article discusses an Aussie bank, you can safely assume this is a trend that will spread around the world in the next decade.
Record Breaking Seahorses
Marine scientists have released an endangered seahorse species into Sydney Harbour. The largest ever release of its kind in the world. 90% of the seahorses survived the breeding process and scientists are monitoring them and replanting sea grass to help their population thrive.
Key takeaways:
Marine scientists have successfully released 380 endangered White's Seahorses into Sydney Harbour.
This is the largest release of its kind in the world.
The seahorses were bred in captivity and placed into existing natural seagrasses and 'seahorse hotels'.

Book I’m Reading/ Book Quote
The War of Art - Steven Pressfield
The War of Art explores the concept of Resistance, an internal force that prevents us from doing our creative work. The book is divided into three parts: Resistance, Turning Pro, and The Muse. In the first part, Pressfield defines Resistance as "the enemy of our best work."
As I venture deeper into my writing journey I want to grow and improve. This book has come up numerous times in other blogs and podcasts so I’m getting stuck in. The book has been credited with helping many people to overcome Resistance and to achieve their creative goals.

The Concept I’m Contemplating
The hardest part of anything new, a hobbie, job, project, is getting started. The next most challenging part is being consistent enough to see results.
If you want to start something and improve on it consider this simple 60/90 principle.
Dedicate 60 minutes per day for 90 days to work on something you wish to achieve. Witness the transformative power of consistent effort and focused attention.
Read more about getting started and this principle in my weekly newsletter.
Podcast I’m Walking to
Chris Bumstead is a professional bodybuilder, a 4X Mr Olympia Classic Physique title holder. Chris is regarded as one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time. He's been called the Arnold Schwarzenegger of this era.
This podcast is surprisingly good. Chris is by no means a meathead. Chris Williamson is on top form as the interviewer, drawing out great learnings about commitment and chasing your goals. It’s long but worth a listen, or watch.
Newsletter I’m Reading
The Storm Outside - Bobbyhundreds
I recently listened to Bobbyhundreds on The Tim Ferriss show, it was a great episode. So I now subscribe to his newsletter. Bobby’s storytelling is intriguing and interesting.
A father reassures his son that he can surf, but the waves are too big and there are too many people in the water for it to be fun. He explains that the conditions are due to factors beyond his son's control. He uses this as a metaphor to explain to his son that life sometimes throws difficult conditions at us, but it doesn't mean we're not capable.
